“I have always preferred music and arts over mainstream academics. However, I had absolutely no idea of what to do and how to do it. So, I ended up getting a degree in BSc. But that did not stop me from my interest in arts. Since my school days, I’ve participated in every art competition and I’ve won most of them. It made me feel special when everyone appreciated my art and it does feel just the same even till date.
After finishing my degree, I’ve researched to find someone who could teach me to improve my skills in artwork and I’ve found a couple of masters who helped me to stand where I am now.
That’s when I came to know that one can make money from doing what I love, art! I went around to multiple gift galleries, showed my artwork and collaborated with them. That’s how my small business has begun. I knew nothing about the prices, or how much people would want to gift pencil portraits of their loved ones.
Once I got married and moved to Hyderabad, I’ve been introduced to Instagram and everything has changed ever since. I have started following various artists on Instagram and was learning their techniques, of which, I could use a few for improving my skills.
Being an introvert, it was quite challenging for me to interact with people. But now, I’ve met many amazing artists with whom I can share and talk about everything I love in my art language.
During the start of lockdown, I was worried just like everyone about survival. But it turned out to be a great scope to introduce timelapse videos which anyone could gift their loved ones. Many people missed the chance of getting a photograph with their favourite people. So, I started drawing portraits by merging different pictures into one. It is a huge hit till date and whenever I made this kind of art, it gave me immense pleasure to see that smile on their faces, that I’ve made their dream come true.
I wanted to explore various forms of art and I did it. I now not only do pencil portraits but also do digital artworks, watercolours, acrylics. I’m still in the process of learning many more.
My small business has now levelled up with the brand name “TheArtfulTalesbyPavani” I currently make pencil portraits, bookmarks, badges, coffee mugs and wallet cards. I am finding ways to expand my business and reach many people. For the first time, I have launched my own calendar for the year 2022 to spread positive vibes.
How I started my podcast? Well, since childhood, I have always loved my voice. During the lockdown, I was bored and wanted to do something different apart from my artwork. I started listening to Purijagannadh garu’s podcasts and that’s when it hit me to start one of my own. I started making podcasts in June 2020 with the name “TelugukathalubyPavani” and have received a huge response from the audience within a short span of time. I’m proud to say that I’m the only Telugu girl who has around 500k plays in the podcast field. The podcast series I have made so far under TelugukathalubyPavani are Matrimony Love and Ye Maya Chesave. Under PavaniKaburlu, the series are Sammohanam and Thaanu Nenu. You can listen to my podcasts on platforms like Spotify, Gaana, Jio Saavn, Google podcast and Apple podcast.”
