“As a cycling enthusiast, it feels great to be cycling here. Hyderabad’s ORR cycling track is one of the world’s most sustainable tracks and also is Asia’s second-largest solar road cycling track.
It generates 16 megawatts of solar power which is phenomenal! The three-lane track consists of two stretches- one is 8.5 kilometers long, running from Nanakramguda to Telangana State Police Academy, and the other is 14.5 kilometers long, stretching from Kollur to Narsingi. These two stretches converge at the Narsingi Junction.
Cycling tracks like these are more useful for people to come to families where at the moment it is very tough to go on the roads. Taking that into consideration, the Telangana State government has come up with the great idea of providing a dedicated cycling track for families, cycling enthusiasts, and for everyone to go around.
More than 750 personnel have been tirelessly working on this project since October which is soon to be inaugurated officially. In terms of safety, the government has provided CCTVs, 24/7 safety personnel on the track. They provided parking spaces, and also have rental bicycle options coming up.
These also include recreational points and this cycling track is 4.5 m wide and 23 m long.
Cycling is certainly an inexpensive, dependable, clean, and environmentally friendly mode of sustainable transportation so the cycling tracks like these allow us to promote active mobility in the city which enhances the person’s lifestyle; where you have a great personality development yourself, above all the physical and mental well-being towards your goals.”
