“As cliché as it sounds, I started to love cinema because of three mega stars: NTR, Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi. Honestly, it all began with Chiranjeevi. I was probably 2-years-old when I first watched ‘Gang Leader’. That’s when everything changed for me. As a child, I was apparently an active kid, always restless. But my mother still recollects how it was only this movie that could calm me down. I could sit and watch it as many times as possible. The count has definitely crossed 500. But I hadn’t decided to be an actor back then. In fact, I was an engineer and also joined IIT Madras for masters. But I wasn’t happy. It’s a coincidence that I realised I wanted to take acting seriously around the same time when Chiranjeevi made a comeback with ‘Khaidi no. 150’.
That moment of realisation wasn’t the turning point, but it was the beginning of letting my passion take over and gave me the push I needed. When my ‘Arjun Reddy’ video received good response, I had happy tears probably after four years. My team here has supported me in so many ways – from having my back during controversies to celebrating my first hit – they’ve done it all. They’re family now and this is home. Although the plan is to be a good established actor sometime soon, I don’t have complaints with where I am right now. I have a long way to go but I’m in a happy space right now. ”
