“I have been a farmer ever since I was a teenager. I studied till class 10 and later continued as a farmer taking up my family’s legacy.
We cultivate all kinds of crops on my farm but paddy is the main crop.
The biggest hurdle for each one of us in the present-day scenario is the erratic climate conditions. When it comes to farming, untimely rains and groundwater have been a serious concern, especially in our region. So everyone is adopting modern-day farming techniques including the usage of fertilizers and pesticides. I wish everyone could cooperate and bring back natural farming methods. However, with the increase in urbanization, I doubt if it is practically possible. One has to adapt to the present-day trend and the least one could do is reduce the usage of fertilizers.
We are a part of an ecosystem that is bigger than us and I believe living in harmony with nature in all possible ways could benefit future generations.”
