“As a child, I have always seen people talking about politicians and diplomats, their worldly wise conversation, strategies and embarking on the personality of putting the welfare of people on the forefront. I hail from a defence family who knew that one day, I would get a chance to speak in front of both of them.
I represented Telangana State in the temple of democracy, in the national youth parliament, which gave me a portal to know how the system works and an opportunity to be a part of it. However, prioritizing my technical education, I chose to stay apart from it.
It started with the screening round at the district level, followed by competition and eventually winning at the state level, where I was astonished to listen to views from individuals, who were years older than me in knowledge and wisdom. Finding my name in the first position is still like a dream from a young girl’s diary.
I received a call from the district youth officer in March, congratulating me, it is my birthday month, was very special this year.
Coming from a defence background, I have met people from different parts of the nation earlier, but for the first time as an individual with the duty of keeping the pride of Telangana in my mind, I not only met people of my age but people working rigorously for our nation, secretaries of ministries, department heads and many more.
This state educated me as a senior secondary student, this platform allowed me to not only respectfully give back to this place but also to meet unforgettable people and have cherished memories. Singing the national anthem while standing in the Central Hall, is a feeling beyond words, those inverted fans, that marvellous architecture, those days with the officials of GoI, all of it fills me with a thrill anytime I think about it.
I am grateful to my parents, family, Kun and everyone associated with me so far, who listens to me, and my speeches and makes me into a better person.
I hope any girl reading this, believes in herself and pushes her limits no matter how high the bar is. I hope any parent reading this gives her a chance to do so, the way my Dad gave me, taking our family from our hometown for my education. I hope any youngster reading this, joins hands together and gives their part in making our nation a global leader.
