“I am Kamal Yadav, the proud owner of Balkishan Milk Bhandar in Begumbazar, a cherished dairy shop that has stood tall since the era of the Nizams. Our story spans over 80 years, beginning with my grandfather Bal Kishan, who started this humble venture with a simple dream: to serve the purest, most delicious dairy products in Hyderabad.
Growing up, I watched my grandfather pour his heart into every recipe he made out of milk. Although our shop is small and equipped with just the basics, it’s the dedication to quality that makes us stand out. We sell all kinds of dairy products — lassi, dahi, ghee, paneer, peda — but it’s our lassi that truly captures the essence of our tradition. We keep the recipe simple: fresh dahi, a touch of sugar, and pure malai. As my grandfather always said, it’s the pure malai that makes our lassi special.
Our lassi is thick, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet, a taste that has remained consistent through generations. We also serve the special mango Lassi during summers.
I remember my grandfather telling me, “Quality and honesty in what you serve will always bring people back.” And he was right. Each glass we serve is a tribute to his wisdom and our family’s legacy. Seeing customers savor their lassi, some of whom have been coming here for decades, fills me with pride. This shop is more than just a business; it’s a place of Begum Bazar’s heritage.
Every day, I feel grateful for the love and support from our community. Our customers are more like family, sharing stories and laughter over a glass of lassi. It’s moments like these that remind me why we do what we do.”
