“My interest in literature keeps growing, as it helps me to express my feelings and thoughts. I enjoy both writing and reading. Most of my poetry is inspired by the books I read, be it the vocabulary, writing styles or genres. Reading provokes me to think and relate to everything that’s happening around me. Poems help me to bring out the thoughts that come to me.
My grandfather’s and father’s personality influences mine as I keep hearing their perspectives, thoughts and ways of looking at and expressing things. It influenced both, my vocabulary and speaking style.
On my YouTube channel, I record and publish my poetry and sometimes, other stuff related to literature like quotes, authors, etc.
Recording a YouTube video always means sighs, giggles, blunders and extraordinary expressions. Recording and re-recording a hundred times. We try to shoot in different places and locations. All my followers are really supportive and keep shooting words of encouragement. They sorta’ keep me going.
When I started writing poems, I was never really aiming for my collections to be published. I kept writing and sharing them with my friends, family and teachers. When we received a lot of favourable inputs and suggestions to go ahead with publication, my father decided to try it. It worked. Thoughts came to me easily, but shaping everything into a single poem got me frustrated sometimes, with too much to write. The lockdown helped me a lot, giving me space, time, experiences and thoughts.
I just want everyone to start the year 2022 on a positive note. 2021 flew by with its own ups and downs. 2022 is a new, fresh year, let us forget all the negativity and start afresh on a positive note.
Recently I performed at open mic poetry events held by literary groups in our city. Being the only ten-year-old amongst seasoned grown-up performers and all adult audiences, it was an exciting experience for me. The appreciation and encouragement I received from all motivate me to do much more in the coming year.”
