“I feel so strongly for travel, the experience of living within another culture, in another location, in complete anonymity yet feeling completely at home is indescribable. To be honest, that’s been the absolute worst part of the lockdown. My lifestyle is intertwined so much with that of a traveller that separating myself from it has been quite a struggle. When all of this started, I thought it would last a couple of months, but here we are, eight months later, with no end in sight.
When I started my experiential travel company, that’s exactly what I wanted to share with the world- the beauty of truly delving into life at a completely new location and becoming one with it. It’s a pity how many smaller industries have taken a hit with the lack of travel- the local cooks, homestay owners, and drivers; they had all become familiar faces to me, I really miss seeing them and interacting with them. We’ve done our best to be supportive, but there’s only so much one can do.
Everybody has shifted to working remotely, which is why we’ve come out with our new concept of working from home but in a different destination! It is the perfect balance of work and vacation, don’t you think? We’re all working remotely anyway, why not do it in the hills or on the beach? The way I see it is that regardless of how many curveballs this pandemic throws at us, we just need to keep reminding ourselves that there are good things ahead!”
