“Almost 46 years ago, when I was just a teenager, I had shifted to Hyderabad from my hometown, Vijayawada, to earn a living. Increasing problems drove me to take up a job to support my family after my high school education. I did struggle for a couple of years but fortunately, I was able to get a job in the Postal department – Director of Accounts. I worked in the accounts department for 33 years and had just retired 6 months ago from my service.
Back then, there was more manpower and everything used to be systematic. But things have changed now because of the digital boom. Now we have got Electronic Money Order and Speed Post System. It did take us a while to adjust to the computerization but we were able to adapt to it with training.
Well, coming back to my current job, I am doing this iron business just to be occupied myself in my free time. Even though I had retired from my service, I chose to work just to do my bit for my family. I am passionate about the ironing service and I feel no job is big or small as long as one enjoys the work.”
