“Growing up, I was deeply moved by the lack of accessible medical care in rural areas. I saw how difficult it was for people to get timely treatment, and I knew I wanted to be part of the solution.
I was born and raised in Khammam in a family of educationalists—both my parents dedicated their lives to teaching. Their commitment to empowering young minds inspired me to bring change in another essential field: healthcare.
After completing my MD in Medicine from Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Pune, I pursued a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Royal College of Physicians, UK. I worked in corporate hospitals for four years before starting Khavyaa Hospitals—an emergency and multispeciality hospital in Khammam.
Non-communicable diseases like diabetes, thyroid disorders, and hypertension were silently affecting millions, especially in rural India. That only made me more determined.
I’ve conducted several free medical camps in the tribal areas of Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam. The COVID-19 pandemic further underlined how vital accessible care is. Despite challenges, I continued to serve with the support of my family and team.
One case I can never forget is that of a 6-year-old tribal boy who was brought in a coma. His sugar levels were 650. The family thought it was a stomach issue, but we diagnosed Diabetic ketoacidosis. After 24 hours of critical care, he opened his eyes. Moments like these reaffirm my purpose.
Today, I lead a committed team. We were named the ‘Most Innovative Multispeciality Hospital – 2023.’ I was listed in the ‘Top 10 – 35 under 35’ by Insight Success and received the Dr. B.C. Roy National Award for 2024.
But for me, the real reward lies in the smiles of our patients. That’s what keeps me going.
On this National Doctor’s Day, I hope we continue to build a system where quality healthcare isn’t a privilege, but a basic right—accessible to every single person, no matter where they live.”
