“I used to work as a TV Mechanic in my village, Konapuram, in Warangal Rural District. While I was working, I had always dreamt of owning a car but due to the financial difficulties, it never happened. However, I didn’t give up. I had a basic understanding of the functionalities of batteries and electric motors.
So a couple of years ago, I thought about building an Electric Car with whatever available material.
Through my self-taught knowledge about automobiles, I was able to build a portable electric car through scrap materials. The main component of the electric car was a DC motor. I collected second-hand spare parts that are usually discarded such as motors, iron rods, and more. The model failed many times. But finally, I was able to succeed after multiple attempts.
After watching my innovative attempt, I had gotten an opportunity to be a Rural innovator at T-WORKS. Through innovation and research applications, I designed an electric go-karting vehicle, which can cover around 60 km at a maximum speed of 35 kmph with a single charge. I didn’t spend much money on creating this go-kart prototype. I assembled it with parts from old vehicles and modified it accordingly. It took roughly around 90 days to develop this vehicle. Despite some initial challenges, I presented this Go-kart prototype with the support of experts and engineers at T-Works.
Apart from this, I also developed an automatic seeding tool for the benefit of the farmers. Watching the farmers in villages bending down and taking a lot of strain to seed the plants, I thought to develop tools to ease their workload. The automatic seeding tool was an instant success and it has helped farmers to ease their work.
I am currently working on the extended version of the electric Go-kart car which will be presented soon.
Today, with the support of T-Works, India’s largest prototyping center, and the officials from Government of Telangana, I am able to be a part of the Innovation and technology sector.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to be a part of T-Works as a Rural innovator and the journey has been amazing so far.”
