“I’m Pavan Kumar, and along with my younger brother Sai Kumar, we’ve been fascinated by Rubik’s cube for years, where we later got into speed cubing. It all started back in 2010 when I first solved a Rubik’s cube. I was amazed at how quickly I picked it up, and I found out that my speed put me among the top solvers globally. I wanted to see how far I could go, so I entered my first competition in Mumbai while I was still studying engineering. It was a huge challenge, but it pushed me to improve.
By 2013, I had become World No. 1 in 3×3 speedcubing and achieved a 100% success rate in the blindfolded category. The World Cube Association even asked me to become a delegate, which was an honor. In August 2017, I started Deccan Cubing to teach others how to solve Rubik’s cubes.
The support we received from the community was overwhelming, and it reinforced my belief that this was my true passion.
We also make Rubik’s cube mosaics of famous figures and mythological characters, which we display at various events. Throughout this journey, Sai has been by my side, and together we created Mosaic Brothers.”
