“Every year on World Bicycle Day, we try to raise awareness about using bicycles as part of active mobility. This time, we dedicated our ride to the Indian Armed Forces. We gathered at the Narsingi Cycling Track with over 200 cyclists, families, kids, and regulars from our cycling community.
What made the morning truly memorable was the presence of veterans and officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Some kids came dressed in uniforms, holding flags. We had a salute ride, a march-past, and even a letter-writing activity where kids wrote thank-you notes to soldiers.

At HCR, we keep reminding people: if your destination is within 1 km, walk. If it’s within 5 km, cycle. For anything longer, use public transport. That balance is key, for health, for the environment, and for traffic.

We’re also working to make cycling easier for everyone, and we hope to see a full public cycle-sharing system in the city soon. But for that to happen, we need better infrastructure, dedicated tracks, secure parking, and a mindset shift.
Cycling isn’t just a hobby or sport for us. It’s about changing how we move, live, and care for our city.”
