“Music and Career? Well, finish your Engineering course first, get a job and then you could try your luck in the career of arts. This was the usual response I got from my parents when I told them about my interest in music. Thankfully, they never stopped me to pursue my interests though.
I was always passionate about music right from my childhood. During school, I used to actively participate in various co-curricular activities like singing and dramas and received many accolades. However, I never thought to make them my career option though. I was always focused on doing well in academics and at the same time, be active in arts and sports. After my Intermediate education, I had to make a crucial decision in my career and that’s where the music bug hit me. Somehow, I was fascinated towards arts but upon my parent’s suggestion, I took up Electronics and Communication Engineering in my B.tech and graduated from Lovely Professional University.
During my course, I kept myself active in pursuing my passion for music and performed live gigs in more than 100 events. Talking about the challenges, I believe hardships occur in each of our lives, and I fully realized that no one’s life is perfect. So I kept practising and performing and that eventually gave me a chance to partner with Aditya Music for producing independent covers.
After the completion of my B.tech course, I took up a full-time job in a software firm and also ventured into independent music as a vocalist and lyricist collaborating along with different musicians.
I have also released five originals so far during the lockdown period and I am glad that our songs — Adharva Moriya, Vishwam, Malli Raava (cover), Evare (cover), Gananayaka, Ela Mari Ika Raava got recognition across the state. I am also coming up with my next commercial ‘Agipove Kaalama’ where I am going to work with multiple musicians in the Telugu film industry presented by Aditya music
We are currently into pop and folk genres and we also intend to experiment with the commercials in the future.
When we started doing covers and live gigs, I realized that people here want to listen to new music, but lack the right platform. So we began to mobilise people and tied up with a few music enthusiasts in the film industry as well. Our parents have also realized that there’s more to our lives than a corner office and a computer and that in itself, is revolutionary. (laughs)
I just want to suggest all the youngsters – have trust in their abilities. Life is all about being positive and one should move on with confidence, determination and hope!”
