“I have been a watch mechanic for over 40 years now. My customers are a blend of old and young generations. Over the years, because of the increase in the usage of smartphones and other smart gadgets, the watch mechanic profession has lost its importance.

I work on several classic watches such as Rolex, Quartz, Seiko,  Patek Philippe, and many more.  Although I do store a few new watches for sale at my shop, most customers come here to get the battery or straps of old watches changed, or for servicing. Some of the old pendulum clocks were also brought to my shop for repairs. Now, I am not repairing them because the parts of those watches are difficult to find and are expensive.

I am above 60 years old and many ask me when I would hang up my boots. While there are days when I am tempted to quit this business and relax at home, I enjoy my work too much to do so. I don’t enjoy being idle!”
