“My father migrated to Hyderabad with our family in 1985. We didn’t know where we were heading, but we believed that he would do everything for our good. He opened a Pani Puri business on a cart here in Ram Nagar. Back then, pani puri wasn’t as famous in this city. We did well, so I took it up too, after passing grade 10.
In so many years, I never thought a day would come when people would be scared to get out and eat pani puri – everybody’s favourite street food. Because of COVID-19, nobody’s ready to take the risk to have pani puri. Health is first for them and I understand that. But I have a family of 5 to feed. How do I make money? Earlier, I would also take up catering orders. Now, there are no functions. There’s no hope. After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to wait for another 3 months. If things don’t work out, I’m going to shut this business forever. It’s a difficult decision but I have to do it!”
