“Hello, I’m Kiran Raj, a trans man and entrepreneur from Hyderabad. I’m the founder of Sparsh Cottage Industries, where my team and I create Handmade soaps. We started with one simple goal: to build something meaningful while creating opportunities for others in the transgender community.

Recently, we were given a stall and trolley stand at the new Charlapalli Railway Terminal Station, as part of the Ministry of Railways’ ‘One Station One Product’ (OSOP) initiative. This is a big opportunity for us, allowing our products to reach more people and prove what we can do when given a chance. At our stall, we offer a range of products created by members of our community. I run the handmade soaps. Jasmine, one of the most hardworking persons sells homemade snacks which she makes herself.

Tripura and Sahasra, two talented transwomen, make handmade jute bags. Each one is unique, showing our strength and creativity. It feels great to share something we are passionate about with everyone who stops by. We’ve also allocated another stall at Secunderabad Railway Station on Platform 10 which we are extremely grateful for.

For me, these aren’t just business milestones. They’re about being seen for the work we do, not just who we are. It’s a reminder that when we’re given the space, we can contribute meaningfully. I’m grateful for the support from Railway officials and the state and central governments. Their efforts help people like me take bigger steps toward our goals. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Varghese brother, Mukunda Mala Garu, Rachana Mudraboyina Garu, and support of Montfort Social Institute along with the Trans Equality Society who are in a mission to empower and uplift the transgender persons in the country. They’ve worked hard to make this happen, and I’m really grateful for
These stalls are more than just a way to earn a living. They show that we’re part of the larger community, that our work matters, and that we’re moving forward with dignity and pride!”
