“My name is Rumppali, and Hyderabad has been home to me for many years now even though my family roots are from Kolkata. What I love about this city is how it’s growing so fast but still finds ways to stay connected to nature. From constructing oxygen parks to the initiatives like Haritha Haram, there’s a visible effort to make Hyderabad greener and more livable. As someone who loves gardening, it’s inspiring to see this balance between development and sustainability.
I’m here with my friends Savita and Teresa. The three of us share a common passion for gardening. Savita, who’s originally from Kerala, often tries growing her own vegetables at home and she also takes part actively in awareness campaigns about environment and clean-up initiatives. Theresa, who has lived in several cities, says Hyderabad stands out for its efforts to bring green initiatives into everyday life.
As individuals, gardening is how we try to contribute in our small way—whether it’s growing plants on our balconies or encouraging friends to do the same.
Being at Pushp Utsav today at Hyderabad International Airport, surrounded by people who share this passion, makes us hopeful for the future. Hyderabad is not just about skyscrapers and IT parks; it’s also about creating a city where nature has a place in everyone’s lives. This city has shown us that development and sustainability can go hand in hand, and we’re proud to be a part of it—one plant at a time.”
