“My name is Shravan, and this is the story of my musical journey with Band Capricio.
I grew up in Warangal, where my dad, a singer and keyboard player, was my first connection to music. Watching him, I naturally developed an interest in music. It wasn’t planned, but when I started playing the piano in 9th grade, it felt right. That’s when I knew music would be a big part of my life.
In 2016, a mutual friend, Teja, called and asked if I could join a new band as their keyboard player. That band was Capricio, started by Sai Teja, Eknath, and Ganesh. Two months after it began, I joined, and we clicked immediately. We were friends who loved music, and that made all the difference.
In the beginning, performing Telugu songs in clubs was tough. The audience didn’t always respond well, and we questioned if we were on the right path. But we didn’t give up. Moonshine Project became a game changer, giving us confidence to perform regularly. From there, we moved to places like Tabula Rasa and started releasing music on YouTube through Chitra Hastra. Some songs went viral, and suddenly, people began noticing us.
I still remember setting everything up ourselves and playing for just a handful of people. Over time, those empty venues turned into packed houses. Watching people show up just for us was a feeling I can’t describe.
A turning point was performing with Shobana Garu at a charity event for over 3,000 people. That day showed us how far we’d come.
As we grew, so did our opportunities. Performing in the U.S. and Australia was surreal. I’ll never forget a show in freezing New Jersey, about -1°C—but the crowd’s energy kept us going. Moments like that remind us how music connects people everywhere.
We’ve also performed with artists like Sunitha Garu, Sumangali Garu, and Chinmayee Garu. Each collaboration shaped us as a band.
Of course, there’ve been ups and downs, but our shared love for music kept us grounded. Today, Capricio has six members, each bringing something unique. We dream of creating a movie about our journey, sharing our story with more people. But this is just the beginning! We’re ready to push boundaries and share our music globally.”
