“Even though we’re 300 km apart, my bond with my granddaughters remains strong. For twenty-five years, whenever they visited my village, Gopalpuram, it was a cherished time. Despite my children moving to the city, they always brought my four granddaughters back.
We gather under a neem tree, enjoying homemade treats like Sarvapindi and Bakshalu, and chatting about life. They show me modern tech, and I share old wisdom.
During their visits, especially during harvest season, they experience village life. But this year, we’re apart. Still, we keep in touch, caring for each other.
While I value progress, I want them to cherish tradition and their roots. Beyond computer and smartphone screens, I want them to learn real-life skills, balancing both worlds.”
