“Growing up, I helped my parents in the fields everyday. I saw them struggle to make ends meet. They’d sell milk and vegetables but would make just enough to feed the family. I knew I wanted to do something big and make them proud. I explored many sports and physical activities until I joined National Cadet Corps Secunderabad and was soon selected for mountaineering. I went through rigorous coaching sessions before getting ready to scale Mount Everest and Elbrus. I had no clue about the weather conditions at the peak but I slowly learnt about it all.
I scaled Mount Kilimanjaro in July last year and Mount Everest in May this year. Within a month, I summited Mount Elbrus. It was quite challenging as I had very little time to manage the finances. During my summit, I had to stop climbing due to unfavorable weather and spend two- three nights at the base camp. Soon, once the weather conditions became favourable, I resumed my journey and completed the summit. At the peak of every mountain, I dedicate the summit to one cause. For Mt. Everest, it was to protect the five elements of nature.
In my previous Mount Elbrus summit, I campaigned a message against drugs and the importance of planing trees. I believe it is each of our responsibility to protect our mother Earth. None of it would’ve been possible without the sponsors who supported me through all my previous summits. My next aim is to summit Mount Kosciuszko, the highest peak in Australia. On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of our former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, I pledge that I will plant and nurture 10 trees and will ensure that those around me do the same.”
