The first step towards equality is acceptance and respect. No matter where we come from, each one of us deserves equal opportunities in every phase of life. We often see rural women belonging to backward class facing the highest rate of discrimination. Sometimes, it’s not even about men respecting us. So many women don’t even realize that they have the right to freedom. It’s important for educated women to create this awareness in our surroundings – tell your maid, cook, a vegetable vendor, fruit seller or anybody around you, that she has the right to live her life the way she wants. Women need to stand up for other women and that’s the only way forward.
