“I grew up in a middle-class family where education was always the way forward. I did well in studies and became a mathematics teacher. Life was steady, but I wanted to try something that reflected what I saw and experienced around me.
While teaching, I began making short videos—tutorials, daily life clips, nothing major. During that phase, I met Srikanth Garu, who had started a YouTube channel called My Village Show in his village, Lambadipally. When he invited me to join the team, I did—and that’s how the journey began.

We made a few videos that got some views, but the turning point was one on poor internet connectivity in the village. It was funny, real, and relatable. That video went viral, and we gained over a lakh subscribers in a day. We realised people connect with humour rooted in authenticity.
Many viewers were Telugus living away from home. Our videos reminded them of village life—festivals, farming, cooking, weddings, everyday slang. We never imitated city life. We shot everything in and around our village. We handled the writing, filming, editing, and acting ourselves. Gangavva’s natural charm brought life to many of our videos. I started appearing regularly, and the channel slowly grew.

We explored satire, social issues, comedy, and traditional recipes. One viral video was our version of the Kiki Challenge—done while ploughing a field with bullocks. Today, My Village Show has over 3 million subscribers. But our goal remains the same: telling stories that feel close to where we come from.

I’ve also acted in Telugu web series. Recently, I played the lead in Mothevari Love Story, produced by Madhura Entertainment in collaboration with My Village Show, streaming on ZEE5. It’s a rural story—an extension of what we always aimed to do: bringing honest, humorous village stories to life.
I’ve realised that you don’t have to change yourself to be seen. When your story is real, people connect with it. That’s all we’ve ever tried to do — just speak from where we are.”
