“My name is Shireen Sultana. I’m the co-founder of KinderPass – a digital child healthcare platform that helps parents track and boost their child’s development from birth to 5 years of age. Tracking development through the early years, ensures parents know what to look out for, what red flags look like, thereby enabling early detection and intervention if required. Our platform puts the power of 7 developmental experts into the hands of parents. Today we have apps on iOS, Android, and Jio phones. We are present in about 180 countries across the world. In India we have a reach of over 400 cities and towns, tier 2 tier 3 towns as well.
I’m a commerce graduate of Andhra University from Vishakhapatnam. Then I went to IIM-Indore to study. Passing out in 2003, I worked in a lot of corporate roles in sales and marketing across MNCs like Mars and ISB. I took a break when I had my son and that got me introduced to the world of early childhood development. I tried to read as much as I could, do a lot more digging into the scientific aspect of it, on what happens with the baby’s brain and body as they’re growing and that’s what opened up my perspective to the scientific aspect of childhood development and that’s how my co-founder, Sumedha and I build the KinderPass of today.
Speaking about gender equality, you’d be surprised to know, 45% of our users surprisingly are Dads. It is so heartening to talk to fathers who are so hands-on with their children. The idea of a father not contributing to their child’s development in the early phase is not true anymore. If your partner is really hands-on then I would say the women’s progression will be to the next level. Support is everything that a man or woman today needs and if they have each other’s back, then there is no stopping them from scaling new heights.”
