“When my brother
died all of a sudden, his kids became my responsibility. They study along with
my two children now. My mother,wife, and kids…all depend on me and I do my
best to take care of them. Things were a little difficult when I migrated from
Uttar Pradesh a few years ago. But my cousin helped me out with the transition
and got me this job in this stall. I learned to make snacks and sweets in my
village and I am glad it’s of use here.

On a good day, my regular customers pick up atleast 5 kilos
of hot jalebis. And, when business is a bit dull, I take home some of my stock
and kids have a grand jalebi party.”
