“My passion for making a meaningful impact in healthcare started early. I was born and raised in Khammam. I come from an educationalist family, where both my parents have dedicated their lives to the education department. Their dedication to shaping young minds and fostering knowledge inspired me to pursue a career in medicine, where I could make a real difference in people’s lives.
Growing up, I dreamed of serving the poor and vulnerable. I saw how various health issues, such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, and blood pressure, were affecting millions of lives in India. The rising cases, especially in rural areas, highlighted the need for accessible and quality healthcare. I knew I wanted to be part of the solution. After completing my MD in Medicine from Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College and Hospital, Pune, I further specialized with a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Royal College of Physicians in the UK. After working in several corporate hospitals for around 4 years, I then started Khavyaa Hospitals, which is an Emergency and Multi-Speciality Hospital in Khammam.
One memorable case that stands out is that of a 6-year-old boy from a tribal area, who was brought to our hospital in a coma with a blood sugar level of 650. His family thought it was just a stomach upset, but we quickly diagnosed it as Diabetic ketoacidosis. We started treatment, and after 24 hours, he miraculously opened his eyes. He’s been following up with us ever since, and his family is grateful for the immediate medical assistance. Cases like these remind me of why I chose this path.
I conducted several free medical camps in tribal areas of Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam regions, providing affordable medical diagnosis and driven by my desire to make healthcare accessible to all.
The COVID-19 pandemic has really driven home the importance of healthcare and overall wellness. We’ve seen an increase in non-communicable diseases due to lifestyle changes and the pandemic. We’ve seen how crucial it is to have access to quality medical care, especially in rural areas. I’m glad to have been able to provide essential services during these challenging times. I faced numerous challenges, but my determination and family support kept me going.
To further make healthcare affordable for everyone, we are starting a 20 rupee clinic one day every month, starting this month.
My family has been a constant source of strength and support throughout my journey, encouraging and guiding me every step of the way. I’m committed to continuing this work, driven by my passion for making a meaningful impact in healthcare.
Today, I’m proud to lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who share my vision of making quality healthcare accessible to all. We’ve been recognized for our innovative approach, including being honored as the ‘Most Innovative Multispeciality Hospital of the Year – 2023’ and my inclusion in the ‘Top 10 – 35 under 35’ list by Insight Success magazine. And, I am thrilled to share that I have been awarded the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy National Award for 2024, in recognition of my contributions to the field of medicine and healthcare.
But for me, the real recognition comes from the smiles and gratitude of our patients, who remind me every day why I chose this path. I remain committed to serving the poor and vulnerable, driven by my passion for making a meaningful impact in healthcare.”
