“When I was a child, clay Ganesh idols weren’t as famous as they are now. But I remember my family opting for those long before they were advertised. My brothers and I would buy an idol and decorate it at home. All the kids of my colony would come together to dance and welcome Ganesha – the one that we put in our gated community. We had rangoli and dance programs throughout. It was a true celebration. Today, the celebrations have decreased, with kids being more interested in phone applications. But I’ve made sure my children give importance to traditions, while being equally modern and tech-friendly. So the celebrations from my childhood home continue in my own home now!”
