“My name is Satya and I am a Tailor by profession. I started learning tailoring at the age of 12. I was not an academic student, my grades were really low. So I dropped out of school after class 6 without my parents’ knowledge and left for my mother-in-law’s house in Karwan.
My Parents searched for me for a while. They later came to know that I was staying at my mother-in-law’s place. My father questioned me “Why did you drop out of school and what is that you want to do in life?”
I gave him a couple of reasons why academics were not my cup of tea and then told him that I want to learn Tailoring. This is how my tailoring profession started and I am happy with it.
My father was a Government servant and he dedicated his life to working. He was a diligent man. It’s because of his hard work that I have owned a house.
I got married in 2009 and now have two kids. They are studying. The only regret I have is not understanding the value of education. See without education now in this modern world I would say it’s really difficult to grow as intended.
I don’t want my children to suffer the same as I did, so I am trying my best to provide them with good education and I am happy that they are doing well. With education, you gain knowledge that helps you to do something good to lead a dignified life. I tell my children the same and they understand it.
Now I have a tailoring shop of my own in the area I live, but I’m planning to spread my business and want to start a proper tailoring shop in the city nearby.”
