“It’s a known fact that actor, Mahesh Babu, has been frequently funding for the heart surgeries of kids who are hailing from poor economic backgrounds. Taking him as an inspiration, I started to do my bit to the children within my capacity every month with charity despite being a mason myself.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, I realised the sufferings of my fellow workers and also a few migrant labourers whose children have been in distress, whether it could be in terms of health or for their education. In order to spread the message to the wider audience, I have decided to go on a walkathon for the cause of rising funds for the children who are suffering from the heart ailments.
Along the way, I also wanted to spread the awareness on the good governance. I am a huge admirer of Telangana’s IT and MA&UD minister, KTR sir. I wanted to meet him and give him a representation and explain the cause of my walkathon.
Today, I am finally able to reach Hyderabad from my hometown, Srikakulam. It took me around 20 days to reach Hyderabad as I have walked around 40-45 km in a day.
During my course of this journey, I have met people from all walks of life. I explained them about my purpose of walkathon.
Nearly 8 out of 100 children suffer from CHD in India and with an estimated 25 million children, adolescents and adults with untreated Congenital Heart Disease in the country, according to data released by the Ministry of Health.”
