“My family encouraged my passion for cooking and culinary arts but always insisted on getting a formal degree first. I ended up doing a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, Sociology, and Political Science and later entered into the Hotel Management field.
When I started, it was difficult as I was made to do all kinds of work in the kitchen, from washing dishes to cleaning water closets to cooking, as part of Industrial Training. But I didn’t let that deter me. I was as good as anybody else in the kitchen and I proved my worth. After my training period, I got an opportunity to work with many big chains of hotels.
Today, I have been promoted to manager, and I take care of the counter and kitchen responsibilities. I may not have attained the most senior position yet, but my family considers me a successful man. I intend to grow big in life and work in more respectable positions in the future.
Not only this, I am aiming to get into the government sector job and I am preparing for it simultaneously with my job. One thing I wish to say to people is to love what you do in life. If that work doesn’t motivate you to grow and give you happiness, just find the job which aligns with your interest. But do your heart heartfully (Bikul Sacchi Dil se)”
