“I travel across different states in India, collecting hair from generous donors to craft free wigs for cancer patients. It’s my way of raising awareness and offering support to those in need. Creating these wigs takes a lot of time and resources, costing between Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,000 for each wig, made from seven ponytails, each measuring 12 inches. Despite the challenges, we’ve made a conscious decision not to burden donors or recipients financially. Some incredible individuals even go the extra mile by offering voluntary donations to help our cause. Teaming up with a local artist, we ensure that every wig we make is as natural-looking as possible.
Looking back on the past two years, during which we’ve provided over 800 wigs to cancer patients, I remember the doubts from family and friends when I decided to pursue this unconventional career path as a hairstylist. But despite the skepticism, I’m filled with pride knowing that our @hyderabadhairdonation99 project has flourished. Today, we’re able to offer free wigs all across the country. However, to keep this project going, we need your continued support. If you can, please consider donating your hair.
I understand the immense physical and emotional challenges that cancer patients face, which is why I urge everyone to join us in supporting them by donating 12 inches of their hair. Even the smallest gesture can make a world of difference in someone’s life as they navigate through these tough times.
As #WorldCancerDay approaches, it serves as a reminder of the difference we can make in the lives of those battling this challenging disease. Take, for instance, the inspiring tale of gathering hair donations across India to create free wigs for cancer patients. This heartfelt initiative not only provides tangible support but also raises awareness and spreads hope. From overcoming skepticism to providing over 800 wigs in just two years, it’s a testament to the power of compassion and determination.
Reflecting on this journey, I’m reminded of the countless individuals who have selflessly contributed to our cause, demonstrating the profound impact that each act of kindness can have.”
