“I’m from a middle-class family, and my father is a tractor driver. He eventually enlarged the transport business, and as a result of a shortage of drivers, staff, etc., we started to fall apart and run into serious financial difficulties. We sometimes didn’t have enough food for the whole family. But my dad didn’t give up on his business; he fought back, and still, despite all the financial issues, he managed to educate me and my brother. We were drowning in debt and all our financial worries were only increasing. Since there was no way to put a stop to this pain and we lacked the strength to fight, we began to consider suicide.
My brother and I started working under daily wages of 50-100rs part-time while managing my education as a BTech student. So, one of my friends made me join Kapil chit funds and I worked for 6 months approximately. After some time, my friends recommended that we search for employment in Bangalore and go there; they even covered my travel expenses and accommodation costs. Unfortunately, I couldn’t crack the interviews because I lacked fluency in communication. Back in our days, Congress was ruling, and they had set up networking courses. I joined and practiced. Soon I got a job at Reliance and shifted to Hyderabad, and later, my friends and I thought of joining software. So, I studied Java and tried for interviews, but that was a time in 2015 when every software employee was removed as it was running at a loss, and I left everything and returned to my father’s business. My dad and I drove the truck for a long time and cleared all the debt with a lot of struggles, sacrificing our meals by having only two meals per day.
I decided that this is not the way I want to lead my life and want to give it another shot, so I came to Hyderabad and secured an internship in a company, and for a few reasons, I had to leave that. Soon, I got another job, but they demanded 10,000rs for joining, and I didn’t have a penny in my pocket. My friend Monika helped me here, and that is when my life changed, from working for 8k per month to suddenly receiving a 35-45k raise in three years. Till today I donate a certain amount to save the children – an orphanage in her name. Later I took care of my brother’s education and made him join my company as a part-time employee. Currently, I’m working as an android developer for 16lakhs per annum. I bought a new house and a car and the smile on my parents’ faces after going through numerous struggles is like a paradise. My family is very proud of what I achieved and that they could experience their success through me.
I went to numerous interviews, and everyone was concerned with my ability to speak the language and failed to notice the potential underneath. In light of this, I’ve always wished to launch a company where I could seek young talent and give those with poor communication skills an opportunity. However, we lacked the necessary resources and investors to continue, so it is currently on hold.
All I want to say is if you work hard and don’t give up in between; hold on to hope, success is in your hands.”
