“When I first donated blood, I did not think how much value my blood was adding until I started working with Thalassemia patients who require blood every 15-20 days to just survive. Likewise, with an increase in accidents, surgeries, and a variety of blood disorders along with the population, I still see the problem of blood scarcity despite many blood donors’ coming forward. Today, India has the highest number of youth in the world who are eligible to donate blood and can save lives. All you need to do is get registered and respond when there is a requirement, this is all it took me to become a regular blood donor. Today, I donate my blood specific to a Thalassemia child and few emergencies, where I see my blood flowing in the other person’s body. Every time I donate my blood, it gives me the most profound spiritual experience of adding life to my fellow human beings. As WHO says, Blood donation is an act of solidarity. You need not be a doctor to save a life, donate blood and do it. Happy World Donors day to all the beautiful souls adding life.”
