“I’m a pediatric dentist. My speciality is treating children. We all know how much kids do not love dentists! Despite them squirming and complaining, we have been trained on how to introduce kids to dentistry and eventually establish a level of comfort where they have enough confidence that we won’t randomly end up drilling a hole in their mouth! If I were to say what’s the best part of my job, it would be the sheer happiness of treating a kid who is not able to describe his/her problem to us. Being a dentist is great. We literally put back their best smiles on their faces, you know.
The youngest are the most difficult. Because, regardless of how much you try to convince them, they don’t comprehend it. Nonetheless, it’s not impossible. My rapport with my patients is the best I could ask for. They think of me as their friend.

I’ve seen their kids grow up to be fantastic individuals and I tend to remain their dentist for as long as they need me. It’s beautiful, when your patients reach out to you for the simplest of things, like where can they get the best burger, to the most serious things like medical consultation.

All in all, the one thing I say to every patient of mine without fail is, brush your teeth twice. Most of us don’t do it, but that is what keeps most teeth problems away. Trust me, we don’t like to go around filling and drilling, although we do look like we enjoy it.
