“I’m Super Raja, a filmmaker and actor. My latest film, Ilanti Cinema Meereppudu Chusundaru, is a 100-minute single-shot experimental Telugu feature film with no cuts. I wrote, directed, and produced this film with one daring question in mind: Could we hold an audience’s attention through 1400 dialogues performed continuosly, without a single pause?
For close to eight months, I worked with my co-actor in the film, Vamshi Gonee to streamline this attempt. Every line, every movement, and every emotion was rehearsed until it became second nature. We failed many times before getting it right, and each failure made the journey unforgettable.
Pulling off a one-shot film was the biggest challenge of my life. One mistake meant restarting the entire 100-minute sequence. Memorising over 1400 lines, syncing movements, songs, emotions, and technical cues tested me as an actor, director, and producer. No film school teaches actors to perform for 100 minutes straight. I created a new technique so they never get stuck during the shoot.
Convincing others that this could work in Telugu cinema was another battle. However, our relentless promotions across 17 cities built curiosity among the audience and the film is finally releasing across India.
Actress Chandana Palanki, played the female lead character in the film, along with Ramya Priya and Deepthi Srirangam adding depth to the story. Together with Vamshi and the entire cast and crew, we achieved what many thought was impossible.
Growing up in a middle-class family in Warangal, I was expected to choose stability. I left a secure full time job to follow my passion for filmmaking. My parents, brother and sister supported me through every step and even invested their savings into this. It wasn’t just my leap of faith — it became ours.
This film isn’t about stardom. It is about proving that Telugu cinema can embrace bold experimentation while staying rooted in storytelling. Tomorrow, when people say, “Ilanti cinema meereppudu chusundaru,” I feel every risk, every sleepless night, and every tear was worth it.”
