“Growing up in a traditional household in Hyderabad, Sheer Khurma was always that one dish that felt like home. It’s what we shared with neighbors and friends during the holy month of Ramzan—a symbol of our hospitality.
My journey in the food world started at Liberty Cafe in LB Nagar. I spent my childhood watching my father run that place. When we lost the lease to the cafe, it was a huge setback for our family. I tried to move on—I finished my BBA and joined a top MNC—but I realized my heart wasn’t in a corporate office. I wanted to bring back the legacy my father had started.
I decided to start a cloud kitchen, focusing entirely on authentic Sheer Khurma. The beginning was very quiet. There were days when only a few orders came in. I started taking a stall to the Secretariat on Saturdays just to connect with people. Slowly, through word of mouth and the support of local food bloggers, people started recognizing the quality we were putting out.

Over the last two years, we’ve grown into The Sheer Khurma House. We expanded the menu to include traditional Hyderabadi dishes like kebabs, biryani, and fruit salads. Today, I’m grateful to be recognized in the city, managing a professional team of chefs and staff. It’s been a journey of resilience—from losing a family lease to building a brand from scratch.

Looking back, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about the destination. It’s about having the courage to stay true to your roots even when things get tough. People see the success now, but they don’t see the nights spent wondering if the cloud kitchen would even survive. My goal was never just to sell food; it was to make sure that when someone in Hyderabad thinks of Sheer Khurma, they think of us. We started with nothing after losing our old cafe, and today, we’ve built a brand that stands on its own. That’s the real win for me.”
