“My name is Sinan Muneer. I’m 22, from Kerala, and I came to Hyderabad a few years ago.
Everything I understand about becoming an entrepreneur comes from watching my father, Muneer.
He built everything from scratch. He was once a courier boy, going lane to lane delivering parcels. Then he ran a small tea shop with his brothers. Later, he moved to Thanjavur and worked as a manager in a small store selling gifts, toys, and household items. That’s where he learned how things really work.
Step by step, he moved forward, starting Happy Sweets and Bakery, which became well known, and later expanding into bakeries and hypermarket-style stores like Extra Mart and Metro Mart.
Today, we are building Dotformart in Hyderabad, with our stores in Nagaram and Mallapur. It brings together bakery items, perfumes, kids’ toys, and gifting, all in one place.
I didn’t enter this suddenly. I grew into it.
While others spent holidays relaxing, I spent mine in shops. From my early school days, I observed how customers think, how products move, and how decisions are made. Later, I started working by cleaning, supplying, handling customers, and even baking.
That’s where I learned something important. No work is small if you’re willing to learn.
I completed my schooling at BYKRHSS, Kadungathukundu, and my higher secondary at Government Rajah’s Higher Secondary School, Kottakkal. Then I pursued B.Com under Calicut University and worked in digital marketing at Kerala Startup Mission.
My grandfather shaped who I am. He believed we should be ready for anything. Farming, manual work, fixing things, learning by doing, he made sure we understood how to survive in any situation.
Not everything works. We had to shut down a store in Mancherial when it didn’t grow as expected. But failure is not the end. It is direction.
Today, we are building again and exploring new ventures like Izzas Perfumes in our hometown. I also volunteer with Snehatheeram in palliative care.
At 22, I’m just starting and I have a long way to go. Because success is not luck. It is focus and attention to detail. And in the end, this journey is about building a life that means something.”
