“My name is Prajwal, and I just finished 4th class. Now I’m going to 5th class, which means one very important thing — finally writing with a pen instead of a pencil!
Right now, summer holidays are going on till June 12, so every day feels super exciting. Well… almost free. Teachers gave us worksheets too, so my parents keep reminding me about homework while I keep pretending I’ll do it ‘later.’
Most of my holidays are spent playing cricket and badminton with friends in the galli near my house. The funniest part is that half the time we don’t even have a bat nearby. Someone has to go and borrow it from another friend, and by the time the bat comes, everybody has already started arguing about teams.
My favourite cricketer is Virat Kohli because I love batting. Bowling is okay… but batting feels really special. Even if we score only 10 runs, we celebrate like it’s an IPL final.
Apart from cricket, I like drawing and glass painting. Sometimes I also go to drawing competitions. But honestly, during holidays, concentration lasts only until someone outside shouts, ‘Ra ra match start ayyindi!’
I study in Sri Aurobindo School, and my favourite teacher is my English teacher. We also have computer classes in school. Everyone talks about AI tools and ChatGPT these days, but I still don’t know much about them. For now, I’m happier with cricket bats than robots.
This summer is special because I finished my exams well and now I feel one step bigger. Not fully grown-up… but at least old enough to use a pen confidently and argue loudly during cricket matches.”
