“I grew up watching my father take care of our family business that dealt with auto parts in King Koti. Hyderabad has always been home, and I often visited Secunderabad Circle, hoping to own a shop there someday. I would look at the busy roads and pray, ‘May the Almighty grant me a spot right here.’
In 1991, I established my own unit, Asian Traders, with my father’s help. When the auto parts market struggled, I looked for other opportunities. Eventually, I rented a shop in Secunderabad and began selling helmets. That was the beginning of Helmet World, which has grown to several branches across Hyderabad.
Running a business today comes with its challenges. Online shopping has affected retail sales, while rent, electricity bills, taxes and employee salaries continue to add up. Keeping a business running through changing market conditions requires patience and the willingness to adapt.
I believe in keeping my word, paying suppliers and landlords on time, and treating every customer with warmth and respect. Business is not just about making a sale; it is about earning people’s trust. Some shopkeepers have even started businesses inspired by my name, and I welcome it. If my name helps someone earn a living, why should I object?
My father and I shared a bond more like that of close friends. Today, my four sons help me manage our stores, carrying forward the very values that have guided me through my journey.
Running a business has taught me that success is not just about surviving difficult times. It is about standing by your word when things get tough, treating people with respect even when profits are under pressure, and being secure enough in your own journey to welcome others who want to succeed. Markets may change, but integrity is what earns you people’s trust.”
