“I had sleepless nights right after graduation. When one should be celebrating, I was in distress about what my next step was going to be. The most valuable lesson my mother has ever passed onto me is to never sit idle. She says, “You have to keep moving, keep working in life.” So I knew I had to step up. From jewelry designing to home interiors, I then searched everything. Days into planning and we decided that I was going to explore the field of Baking and Cake Designing. But it would not be the regular cakes. It would be one of a kind. I’ve always had an inclination towards Baking or anything in the artistic field. So that felt right.
Since all the professional courses were based out of Hyderabad, I took it on me to learn everything myself. I would research all night reading recipes, techniques, and different flavor combinations. It was not easy, but I was determined. I remember the first time I attempted a drip cake for my friend, it took me 9 hours to finish the entire assembling and I was physically exhausted. I laid on my bed that night and thought of giving up. But that was never an option. Three months of burnt cakes and an all-time messy kitchen later, I then took my first order.
One after the other, EiffelOfCakes became my identity, my confidence, my home, and my peace. There were days when I would start my day at 4 in the morning to deliver the best I could. It was all done with content. I always had the belief that when you’re given the wings to fly, you have to soar the highest. No excuses, whatsoever.
A year into working and I then got married. With this new phase of life, I didn’t bring in the hope of continuing work. I was skeptical and hesitant. Not many are aware of the hard work that follows into Cake designing and I wasn’t sure if I could commit to it and do it justice. Entering this phase was now all about balance and the extra hustle that I had to do. But to my utter joy, I got an enormous amount of support to restart my work. I had taken the first step because of my parents and I was going to continue it with the encouragement of my in-laws. All I had to do was put in my hours.
During the lockdown, baking took a halt and I had to channel my energy somewhere else. I then spotted Copperplate Calligraphy and it was love at first sight. It was beautiful, intricate and I got to connect with some lovely clients. EiffelOfCakes officially became ‘The Eiffel Studio’ and I got back my peace and my home. I’m building my work day by day and absolutely loving every bit of it. I’m envisioning such a bright future for Eiffel Studio. All one needs is to be surrounded by the right people and the right desires in mind. Everyone has passions in life, all one needs to do is explore them and start working! There’s nothing like it!”
