“I have been earning since the age of seven. That was the time my schooling stopped. Looking back, I cannot blame my family as my parents passed away at an early age. I certainly missed the comfort of having supportive parents and a stable home.
By the time I was 15, I was married. Fortunately, he was the most supportive man I have ever met in life. He started working as a motor repair technician while I was managing the house and help my husband with his work. Initially, it went on smoothly and we were able to earn as much as we needed. But as the years passed, we realized that we needed more to provide our children the best education possible.
I didn’t have many options so I wanted to start a business that gave me flexible working hours. That’s when I decided to open a small-scale milk business center in our home. Later, I have also started a Mee Seva center here with my savings.
Every morning, I would wake up early at 4 am, clean, cook for my family, and then come here to handle the shop. My husband would go to work in the morning while I took care of the shop. He would come in the evening after his work and then continue to run the business until late evening. Gradually our business picked up and this has continued for the last 15 years.
Today I feel all our hard work paid off because my elder daughter is working as a lecturer in college and my second daughter completed her graduation recently. My younger son is pursuing Intermediate and wanted to become an engineer. Now that they have grown up, they ask me to take some rest. But for me, it’s always been the motivation to work hard and support my family. Till today my biggest achievement has been the fact that I have raised my children whose future is secure. They are my pride and I will continue to work hard until they achieve their dreams.”
