“I have always been a farmer. It is just that only men have been considered to be farmers because they own the lands. We have always worked in the fields, but we have never had access to the resources.
All through our lives, we have to cook for everyone at home and go to the fields. Women have always been in charge of transplantation, seeding, weeding, sowing, harvesting and storing the grains. However, I feel bad that we have been neglected for centuries.
My only wish in life is to save some money so that I could purchase 2 acres of agricultural land one day and produce food on my own without depending on others. My husband is a daily wager in a factory and we have seen our shares of hardships. But we keep reminding ourselves that the good times will come if we keep working hard on our dreams without stepping back.”
