“I love acting and theatre. My parents encouraged me to join our family performance group – The Surabhi Drama Theatre when I was 3 years old. At first, I couldn’t understand what was happening but now, it’s the one time of the day that I look forward to.
There were days when I used to feel too tired for practice after coming from school earlier before, but now, because of online classes, I can manage my day’s schedule pretty well. I am in class 6 right now. I study during the daytime and practice in the evening. Theatre always makes me feel better and we are performing our Surabhi drama shows online nowadays because of the Covid concerns.
I believe Surabhi is the only art form in our state which is all-encompassing as it includes history, mythology, drama, dance, music, literature, fine arts among many others. I love performing dramas.
My teachers always tell me one thing – if I truly put my heart and soul into the things I do, there’s nothing that can stop me from becoming what I wish to become. I want to become a doctor when I grow up and make my parents proud. However, I also wish to continue our family’s tradition of Surabhi Theatre when I grow up and spread our legacy to future generations.”
