“I belong to Gulbarga in Karnataka. I was born with a physical disability and could not walk without support. People used to criticize me for my condition during my childhood as I could not compete with my peers. I was denied admission to the local school initially but I went to the special school and completed my high school education. Later, I went on to do various jobs right from STD booth manager to the parking ticket issuer before I started selling clothes and masks on the streets in Hyderabad. It’s been more than 3 years and thankfully, by god’s grace, I am able to provide for my family. I still face issues with some local authorities but I ensure I do business with utmost sincerity and honesty.
It doesn’t matter if life has been fair or unfair to you – you still have to make a living and I am making every day count to make the most of what has been given to me. If an ant could try to climb and fall many times and still reach its destination, then why can’t I?”
