“Quite often, it is only the men who are formally acknowledged as farmers as the majority of them own the farmland. The womenfolk also work in the fields, but we have never had access to equal resources. However, it’s sad that we have been neglected for centuries.

Women have looked after many aspects of farming including transplantation, seeding, weeding, sowing, and harvesting for a long time. The disparity is observed in the wages too.

I worked hard to change that perception and bought this land. My husband is currently working in one of the Arab states and we both contribute equally to provide for our family.

I start my work early in the morning at 5:00. My schedule varies depending on the season and I love being hands-on with my work. My dream is to raise my children independently and send them to good educational institutions. I didn’t have the opportunity to hold books when I was a child due to family circumstances but I don’t want my children to face the same struggle which I had to go through.

My daughter is currently pursuing her class 7 and my son, class 4. I am working hard every day as I wish to see them grow in their lives and pursue their career. ambitions. At the end of the day, we are responsible for our children’s future, so I should be prepared to make their lives better.”
