“Our forefathers came to Hyderabad from Haryana over 125 years ago and opened a small shop in Laad Bazar with just a few traditional recipes and a purpose to share the flavors of their hometown. Since then, Haryana Mithai Ghar has been serving customers, sticking to the same simple homemade sweets and snacks.
One dish that’s always been popular here is our Ghee Puri Sabji which is famously known as Balveer Ji Puri. The puris are fried in pure ghee until they’re crispy and golden, and they’re served with aloo sabji. It’s a dish that keeps people coming back, and we hear a lot of stories about how it’s a favorite for many.
Another crowd favorite is our Malai Kala khand. Many customers who grew up eating it still come by, and now they bring their kids. We also serve other sweets like gulab jamun, gajar ka halwa, samosas, and barfi-all made fresh every day.
What keeps us going after all these years is the people of Hyderabad. It’s not just about running a shop; it’s about the memories. I’ve heard so many stories from customers about how their parents or grandparents used to bring them here, and now they’re doing the same with their own families.”
