“I remember swiping “super like” for Aditya on Tinder in 2016 and until our third conversation, I didn’t know that we were working in the same organization, but never came across each other. We instantly connected when we saw each other’s Tinder display pictures with our dogs and on our first meet, we figured our common love for dogs and food.
After talking, meeting, and going out on a few dates, Aditya decided to make me his girlfriend but guess what? He proposed to me with the wrong name. I think I had fallen in love with him that his wrong name didn’t seem to bother me. From then on there was no looking back and there was only us happily in love, exploring, learning about each other.
Aditya had moved back to Delhi in 2018. The long distance relationship dynamic became the most painful part of our journey. I would say that Aditya is someone that gets me going and has stuck with me through thick and thin, supported my career choices, and been my strong pillar of strength. We make each other so happy that I feel blessed to have him. Our relationship is all about hanging out, eating good food, and exploring every new restaurant that is open. We together have explored 8 states in 3 years. Aditya is a crazy fan of Manchester United and I started following football because of him. I think today I can proudly talk a little about the game.
It’s been 2 years of this long-distance relationship and we have decided to take the big step and vow to be together for the rest of our lives. We come from two different religions, I’m a Punjabi and he’s a Haryanvi and our families have accepted both of us so well. And today, before we take the big step, I wanted to have a proposal since we’ve never formally asked each other about it and why should the men always pop the question right? So here I am, all set today to propose to the man with whom I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with.
Here’s me asking Aditya Rao, will you marry me? I promise to go on many more adventures with you and keep eating good food on our exciting journey up ahead.”
