“The Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is underway, and for those of us working on the ground, it’s a race against time.
Every day, we are going door to door, distributing and collecting enumeration forms, checking voter details, and helping people correct mistakes in the electoral roll. It is a long process, but it is one of the most important exercises before any election.
One of the most difficult situations during Election Duty is telling someone at the polling station that their name is not on the voter list. Once polling begins, there is very little that can be done. That is why this revision is so important. It gives everyone an opportunity to verify their details before the final electoral roll is prepared.

If you live in Hyderabad, or anywhere across India, please don’t assume your name is on the electoral roll just because you voted in the last election. Take a few minutes to verify your details and cooperate when your Booth Level Officer (BLO) visits your home.
A few things many people are unaware of:
• Please fill both enumeration forms. When the BLO visits your house, you may receive two pre-filled forms. Fill in both. One copy will be collected, while the other will remain with you as your acknowledgement. Please keep it safely.
• If your online submission doesn’t work, don’t panic. Some people may face issues while submitting the form online because of Aadhaar e-sign or differences in personal details. If that happens, you can simply hand over the completed form to the BLO during the house-to-house visit.
• At present, officers are only collecting the completed enumeration forms. If any supporting documents are required later, the Election Commission will inform you through the prescribed process.
I would also request everyone to download the ECINET app. It is the Election Commission’s official platform where you can check whether your name is in the electoral roll, find your polling station, track your applications, access your e-EPIC, and use several other voter services from one place.

Please remind your parents, grandparents, neighbours, relatives, and friends to complete this process. A small reminder today can prevent unnecessary inconvenience on polling day. Also share this message in your apartment associations, colony WhatsApp groups, and among your family and friends. The more people are aware, the more accurate our electoral roll will be.
We are doing our part on the ground every day. All we need is your cooperation. A clean and accurate voter list is the foundation of free and fair elections, and every completed form brings us one step closer to that.”
