“With the approach of Diwali season, a sense of anticipation and hope fills our neighborhood. For more than four decades, I’ve dedicated myself to the art of pottery, a craft passed down to me by my mother. Our family tradition is deeply rooted in shaping clay into exquisite pots and colorful diyas.
With great care and craftsmanship, we create pots of various shapes and colors, tailor-made to fulfill our customers’ wishes. These pots will soon find their way into homes, adorning the sacred Lakshmi puja during Diwali, bringing blessings of joy and prosperity.
The past year posed its challenges, as we had to dip into our savings to overcome the difficulties brought on by the pandemic. However, I have no regrets.
Every bit of my earnings in my journey has been devoted to raising my four wonderful children, three daughters, and a son. It’s now their turn to embrace our cherished family profession and the accompanying responsibilities. Amidst the festivity and the radiance of our colorful creations, I feel content and hopeful. I plan to continue working for another year or two, passing on my wisdom and skills to the next generation. Afterward, I’ll take a well-deserved break to explore my other pursuits in life.
In the heart of Hyderabad, this story of tradition, resilience, and hope echoes the spirit of its people as they prepare to celebrate Diwali with warmth and unity.”
