“Holi has always been a special festival for me right from my childhood. When I was in my hometown in Ludhiana, my cousins and I would play with colours and have a lot of fun. It is never restricted to just colours and we often used to play with wet mud, sandalwood powder, and henna. My wife would make delicious badam phirni and Puran polis – my favorite sweets! She also makes Dahi Bhalle very well. We usually wouldn’t have enough money to buy outside so make everything at home itself. So it was only once in a year that she would prepare them. Six years ago, I moved to Hyderabad for work. I try going home for Holi every year, but this time, I couldn’t get enough leaves from my boss. Koi Baat Nahi (no worries)! Hopefully, the surprise gift that I am about to send to my family will make their day colourful even if I am away from home.”
